REQUIEM
Tr. A.Hadley
I. Introit and Kyrie

Tenors & Chorus
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Sopranos
Te decet hymnus, Deus in Sion,
et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem.
Chorus
Exaudi orationem meam; ad te omnis caro veniet.
Kyrie eleison. Christe eleison.

Rest eternal grant to them, O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon them.

To Thee is due a song of praise, O God in Zion,
and to Thee a vow shall be paid in Jerusalem.

Hear my prayer; to Thee all flesh shall come.
Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us.

II. Offertorium

Altos & Tenors
Domine Jesu Christe, Rex gloriae,
libera animas defunctorurn
de poenis inferni, et de profundo lacu;
Libera eas de ore leonis,
ne absorbeat cas Tartarus,
ne cadant in obscurum:
Baritone
Hostias et preces tibi, Domine, laudis
offerimus. Tu suscipe pro animabus illis,
quarum hodie memoriam facimus;
Fac eas, Domine, de morte tran transire
ad vitam, quam olim Abrahae promisisti
et semini ejus.

O Lord Jesus Christ! O King of glory!
Deliver the souls of all the departed
from the pains of hell and from the deep pit!
Deliver them from the lion's mouth,
that Tartarus not swallow them up,
that they fall not into darkness:

Sacrifices and prayers to Thee, O Lord, and praise
we offer. Receive them for those souls,
whose memory on this day we keep;
Grant them, O Lord to pass from death
to that life which of old you promised to Abraham
and to his seed.

III. Sanctus

Sopranos, Altos, Tenors
Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus
Dominus Deus Sabaoth!
Pleni sunt coeli et terra gloriatua.
Hosanna in excelsis!

Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God of Hosts.
Heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory.
Hosanna in the highest!

IV. Pie Jesu

Soprano
Pie Jesu, Domine, dona eis requiem
dona eis requiem sempiternam requiem.

Merciful Jesus, Lord, grant them rest
grant them rest, everlasting rest.

V. Agnus Dei

Tenors & Chorus
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi,
dona eis requiem.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi,
dona eis requiem sempiternam.
Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum, quia pius es.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, grant them rest.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, grant them rest always.
Let perpetual light shine upon them, O Lord,
with Thy saints forever, for Thou art forgiving.
Rest eternal grant to them, O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon them.

VI. Libera Me

Baritone
Libera me, Domine, de morte aeterna
in die illa tremenda;
Quando coeli movendi sunt et terra;
Dum veneris judicare saeculum per ignem.
Chorus
Tremens factus sum ego, et timeo,
dum discussio venerit, atque ventura ira.
Dies illa, dies irae, calamitatis, et miseriae;

Dies illa, dies magna et amara valde.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Libera me, Domine, de morte aeterna
in die illa tremenda;
Quando coeli movendi sunt et terra;
Dum veneris judicare saeculum per ignem.

Deliver me, O Lord, from death eternal
on that fearful day;
when the heavens and the earth shall be moved;
when Thou shalt come to judge the world by fire.

I am trembling and I dread
the coming judgment and indeed the wrath to come.
That day to come, that day of wrath, calamity and misery;
That day to come, that day so great and so bitter.
Rest eternal grant to them, O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon them
Deliver me, O Lord, from death eternal
on that fearful day;
when the heavens and the earth shall be moved;
when Thou shalt come to judge the world by fire.

VII. In Paradisum

Sopranos
In Paradisum deducant Angeli;
in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres,
et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem.
Chorus Angelorum te suscipit,
et cum Lazaro quondam paupere
aeternam habeas requiem.
Chorus
Aeternam habeas requiem

May you be taken to paradise by angels;
where your coming will be attended by martyrs,
and may they bring you into the holy city Jerusalem.
There may the chorus of angels receive you,
and with Lazarus, once a beggar,
eternally may you have rest.
