Spring Benefit - 6 May 2000
The Annual Benefit will feature the Chorale and Nancy Kelly
This May, the MasterWorks Chorale will hold its first Spring Benefit. The Chorale Benefit has been a major event in Skaneateles for
years. These benefit dinners were usually in January, but there are other more significant changes.
The biggest change from the old dinner setting is More Music! The Chorale will sing at the Benefit; a clear departure from cooking
and waiting on tables, as at past benefits.
We also have a new location for the Benefit. Our Benefit will be at the new Welch Allyn "Lodge", more formally named the "William Noah Allyn International Center". This beautiful open training center, built over a pond, is a novel setting for a MasterWorks Chorale performance.
Plan to join us on May 6, 2000 for an evening of
entertainment and refreshments.
Saturday, 6 May 2000 8:00 pm
Noah Allyn International Center (The "Lodge") at Welch Allyn,
NY Route 321, Skaneateles, New York.
Donation: $40.00

Nancy Kelly
The featured singer at the Spring Benefit is jazz vocalist, pianist and arranger Nancy Kelly.
Nancy is an international performer with a local address. A resident of Central New York, she is familiar to many of us.
Those who haven't heard Nancy's scat-style, not to mention her drums and piano, will have that rewarding opportunity at the Spring Benefit.
Reviews of Nancy's 1997 album, the jazz-vocal "Singin' & Swingin' " included comments such as "a jazz vocalist at the peak of her
powers", "a cheery, sunny, and high energy performance", "reminiscent of the glamor of entertainers of the 1930s", and "Judy Garland
with the flair of Frank Sinatra."
